- Genealogy CD Now on Sale. Clan Munro Association, USA is now offering for sale our entire genealogy database recorded on a CD. The data is stored in GEDCOM format so it must be imported into your genealogy software to be used. Almost all commercial genealogy software programs can read GEDCOM files. The database contains information on individuals with the Munro (all spellings) surname. Also included are spouses and descendants of Munros regardless of how the surname has changed through marriage, adoption, legal action, etc. We include dates and places of birth, christening, marriage, death, and burial. We also include biographical information whenever that is available. There are over 55,000 records on the CD, each connected into a family and then into family trees, some of which are extremely large. The data comes from all regions of the world and includes info from the 11th century to the present. Information on living individuals has been suppressed to protect their privacy. None of the data has been verified by CMA and although we believe the information to be quite accurate, some errors can undoubtedly be found in the information.
